Definitely Not an Elephant...

The old saying "An elephant never forgets"  is not holding true for me!  Usually my mind is like a steel trap, but lately, I can barely remember where I live!  I hope that this absent- mindedness is not permanent, or Rich will have to attach a leash to me so I don't wander off!

Fall

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year!  I love it when the leaves reveal their natural colors, and when the air turns brisk with a chill that makes your want a hot sip of something yummy.  It reminds me of how brilliant God is and how much he loves us all year round.  He didn't have to create all the seasons, but he did.  He chose to make this time when the old falls away and all the earth takes a period of rest.  Sometimes I wonder what that would feel like.... to rest for a while, de-stress, and simply bask in him...  I am a huge fan of this fall season in particular because I am learning so much about myself in this new season of my life. Like the many changes that take place from fall to winter I reflect daily on the changes I have experienced this year. Some were brilliantly surprising, while others utterly heartbreaking, and as I enjoy each new season, I continue to strive even more to exalt my Creator in them. I still look forward to my other favorite season.....Spring!  I can't wait to see what new changes every new season of my life brings as I walk with my Savior!

Git on Your Old Clothes...

This week I cleaned out every room in our condo.  You would be surprised how much stuff two people an accumulate in just 3 1/2 years.  I was exhausted come Friday night, but the big payoff was Saturday when we actually made money at our garage sale!  I am excited for two reasons:  one, we can use the money to put down carpet and finish the basement, and two, our house is relatively junk free :0)

Tennessee In Our Blood!

I never thought that I would be an orange and white fan until I met Rich.  I have never seen such a die hard Tennessee fan, except maybe my Nana and Papaw!  I wouldn't miss a game now though!  It is part of our weekends every fall, and a piece of tradition that we want to pass on to our "Little Volunteers" one day :0)

Ode to a Cricut

I absolutely love my Cricut!
You know that it is true!
It cuts out oh so many things,
The things that it can do!

Organic Milk is MMMmmm good!

I have had a real problem with regular milk since Rich told me about lots of possible yuckiness that some milks have in them.  Thanks alot Rich :0)  I bought some organic milk today, and I am proud to say that it was delicious!  Of course Rich asked me if I looked at the price, but I told him all I checked was to see that the only ingredients included were things that are supposed to be in my milk.  Next time maybe he will think twice before informing me of the evils found in certain foods :0)

The Life of a Pup

Charlie has the life!  He lies around all day and watches me go from one project to another.  I wonder what he is thinking?

Sewing Memories

In June my sweet Papaw passed away.  It has been the hardest thing that I have ever had to go through in my life!  I miss him soooooo much, but I know he is with Jesus, so I am happy for him!  Papaw always hated to get rid of anything!  We decided to take his old shirt and things and make memorable quilts, pillow cases, stuffed animals, and clothes out of them.  He would be so proud of that idea.  I have been cutting out the squares for the quilts today.  Each piece holds such a special memory with him!

Adding to the Plate

Not sure exactly how I got this idea stuck in my head, but I decided to actually start a blog today!  I was always horrible about keeping a journal, so we will see how well I keep up with this :0)
